I'm completely new to tropical aquariums. I used to have some goldfish and 2 weeks ago, due to bad info given to me I have added several fish. Pretty soon after that I heard I had don about everything wrong: wrong combination, wrong temp, wrong lights, wrong filter....
so I had to make some real quick decisions and changings.
so this morning I removed the goldfish, putting in several new plants and started a new filter... big changes so I understand that it's normal that my water values are not good wright away... but since I'm new at this I'm not sure what I can just 'let it be' and when I immediately have to act... trying to keep the story short; I have now
aquarium 100/40/50cm
filter Eheim 2224
temp 25 (celcius)
fish: Poecillia Helleri, Xiphophorus maculatus,Beta Splendens(each 1male and 2 female)
I know this is not much but since I started wrong I Tend to keep it like this for a while
quick test on the water, wright after al the changings
PH=7,2 KH=between 3-6 GH=10 NO2=0 NO3=50
7 ours later
PH=7,6 KH=6 GH=16 NO2=0 NO3= 25

The question is can I just let it be and wait til the filter is doing the job or is there something I really have to act on now?
Thanks for any tips or and help

Make sure to test for ammonia and keep the level low with water changes until it goes away completely. Also, do some water changes to lower your nitrate level. other than that everything looks ok to me. Good luck!
