Ive just installed 4 Aquaclear 402 power heads controlled by a "Reef Surge" unit in my reef tank. As the 402's kick in they 'clatter' for a couple of seconds then settle down and pump normally, I have the control unit set for maxiumum time which is about a 2 minutes, so I and the tank get this clatter every 2 minutes !!
If the pumps are connected continuously then no problem. So, do I continue with the switching unit and live with the noise (assuming I cant resolve the clatter of the powerheads - any ideas?), or should I chuck it and and have all 4 going at the same time ?
