my whisper 60 makes splashing/trickling noises even when the tank is filled up. the noise seems to be from inside the filter itself since the water levels are over the lip of the outflow. anyone experience this or know how to stop it?

have you tried moving the control switch back and forth? my 40 also makes some weird noises at times. For me the noise occurs due to the media blocking the water flow and it backs up and exits by the intake tube... or its the water that flows through the media and moving around the carbon..
Not true. The output on the AC is much higher than the Whisper.
Usually when you hear a water flow noise while a Whisper is on a tank with the water to the lip of the filter is because the cartridge is clogged and water lows over the many "bumps" on the WonderTube and the WonderTube Overflow. This is the only time this happens with my Whisper 60. Other than that, the only noise I hear is from a low water level. Just try rinsing the cartridges under a high pressure stream of water. This will let water flow though the cartridge and not from the WonderTube chamber.

My whisper 60 kinda surges,Sometimes if you take it out and make sure the intake tube and i think its called an impeller is seated good. I just pull it up and down making sure everything is snug and the noise stops. I also found it to help cleaning all your tubes witha bottle brush to free old algea from slowing water flow.
