Non-fish to live with my fish.

I would like to know if there is any Non-fish other than shrimp and ADF's that can live in my 18 gallon. I could put land in if its amphibious and can choose the right fish to go with it after i put it in the tank. I was looking at crabs but im not sure if there are any totaly freshwater types. No crayfish.

Don't give up on apple snails yet. You want something big and weird looking, a fist sized apple snail can really do the trick once he's extended his antenna and snorkel.

These looked interesting to me, but I heard that they were somewhat difficult to keep because they're particle feeders. What do you feed yours?
