in your house!!
my venustus cichlid died today :'( all thats left in my tank now is 1 red zebra thats 1 and a half/ 2 inches. what else could i stock in it? its a 20 gallon tank. i thought mabye 4 yellow labs?

Howd it die? parameters?

A 20 gal is too small for what you had, let alone adding anymore of them.

Looks like your planning a 55, that would make a better Mumba tank, as said a 20 is to small, even for small cichlids like rams imo........

i agree with toddnbecka shellies are more stable for that size but if you just have to have mbuna i would put 2 more small zebras with moving them in mind in the future

Can you establish why it died first ? Check ammonia, nitrite, nitrate with a good liquid drop test kit. Any symptoms ?

Secondly, a 20 gall is far too small for malawis. Any other fish of that kind you add to that tank will not live long, or happily.

he got caught in the rocks when i found him in there. im not sure of parametres my kits screwed up:wall: have to get a new 1 today. ill post em later. mabye ill just keep the red zebra on his own:confused:
