O' dear im not having a good day today. Not only has my eheim sprung a leak i also seemed to have placed my tank badly. Even afther checking my floor thoroughly to make sure i woulden't have problems where i wanted my tank i still somehow managed to put one end of the unit on a peice of carpet grip:wall:. I have noticed today that the unit has twisted quite badly, the foam has compensated for this but i'm going to have to fix this A.S.A.P.

Sorry to hear. Ive always wanted a room full of water anyhow lol. more space for fish.

The filter didn't leak much before i turned it off and tank is still fine, but i am going to empty it and remove the offending piece of carpet grip. Does anyone think the unit will straighten when i set it back up again?

ok, i am emptying my tank this weekend my fish are going back into their old 65g tank and we are fixing the twist in the unit. Just want to post some pics of the tank before i start taking it apart in the morning. Hopefully i will have it all set up again by sunday.

Hi,

So sorry to hear about your trouble. Kinda new to the larger tanks. I had a 55 for years and now have upgraded to a 125. Can you explain what you mean by twisted and can it be seen in your photos. Just trying to get an idea.

I'm still new to large tanks as well, I had a 65g for years and reacently upgraded to my 180g.

One end of the unit is siting on a peice of carpet and with the weight of the tank it has twisted the unit 1/4". As the unit has six surports and only one of them is on a peice of carpet that one surport is now 1/4" higher than all the others. I have a 1" peice of fome under the tank which has been squashed to 3/4" where the unit has twisted.

Gotcha, thanks for the info, hope this goes smoothly for you.

Amy

Definitely fix the twist, you'll sleep easier in the long run.
