Okay for some time i've been wondering why my "java fern" wasnt growing and why it never looked like anyone else's java ferns...

i bought this thing for 9 bucks at petsmart and its sold by top fin. well turns out this thing isnt a true aquatic plant. along with mondo grass, which i also bought.

i'm a little ticked off at this whole thing, so here's a heads up. dont buy this stuff.

Yep, I've seen that sold as "Borneo fern". It suckered me in once (Oh! So pretty!), but it didn't do well in my tank at all. Works great in a terrarium, though.

There are lots of non-aquatic plants sold as underwater plants.

Temple, underwater pine, Purple waffle, ect.

Oh well..We learn from our mistakes though, don't we?:) I mistook one plant for an aquatic plant before but I realized sooner that it was a terrestrial plant when it turned brown and died in a few months.

Heh, if that were the telltale sign of a non-aquatic plant, then I'd have assumed Cabomba was non-aquatic.:grinyes:
