Probably removing the CO2 would do it.
Kristina
My CO2 is about to run out, I'll let it sit there and see what happens. I've done this before though, didn't see any algae, just slow plant growth and no more pearling.
then add 2-3 more lights. And use a 55g dose of iron for 2-3 days.
That oughta get you some prettty green water, anyways.
kiddin aside... why?
I'm not looking to purchase more lights, I may purchase the Iron though. Looking to feed my shrimp, nerites, ottos, and Panda's.
or...
phosphate
Thats all I found in my 55 at high lvls. And had 4-6 different algae growing.
I lowed the phosphate.
removed CO2
Added flourish, flourish iron, flourish potassium and weiss natural aquarium vital(snake oil, test).
Now have have very little algae.
I may try phosphate as well.
Not sure if you have any stock but for algae nothing works better then a touch of ammonia or any ammonia based fertilizer (like the plant sticks). Low levels of available ammonia are the reason almost all new tanks go through an algae phase before the owner miraculously finds the cure for algae (and the filter/bacterial colony mature).
I do have stock, won't be able to use the ammonia method.
I think 24/7 plants was selling some algae a few months back!
Here it is:

I would, but she charges too much, and won't take my nigeria payment.
less frequent water changes, dose phosphate, irregular co2 levels, and way too much light. that should get you going.
also if you buy a plant that has algae on it and put it in the tank it will help propogate it.
This tank gets barely any water changes, once a month if that. For some reason, all the plants I buy are from AC members, and dog gone it, none of them sells plants less than perfect!
OP tried that already.

How about the 'ol. put some rocks in a bucket of water. set outside. dump a bottle of ammonia in it. check on it in 3 days, trick?
Unfortunatly where I live, if I left a rock outside, it'll get stolen.
