All of a sudden my anemone doesnt look as good as it did , it looks ok but i know it can look better .
I noticed my salt level got low (but within the range) so im slowly raising it through water changes .
My clowns are always stealing food from it too ,today when i fed it it didnt grab the food like it used to .
I am thinking on seperating the clowns to see what happens and to feed it without getting the food stolen .
Any ideas please .
purple tipped xlarge , you think maybe it is going to split?
Thanks in advanced
pick by my name when it looked full

90 gl 20 gl sump
130 to 180 LR
All tests have been 0ppm from cycling /3 months old
20 to 30 different corals .
i have posted with gtaaquaria to trade the anemone ,as i dont really have the experiance, unless i can get help .
2x10,000 x2 actinic 65 watts ,the anemone came with that lighting
thanks

How long have you had it?? Could it just be preparing to expel waste??

if the clowns would let it eat ...... but it wont eat anyway .
Honestly i think it is goimg to die , the guy i got it from told me to feed it raw shrimp , what else could i feed it ?
thanks all

so are you saying that you've seen it poop before (deflate and look pathetic) and this is not what it's doing? i've not tried feeding my nem when it was pooping but i wouldn't be surprised if it didn't accept food at that time... how long has it been looking bad? as far as feeding i mostly feed silversides, tho small pieces of raw shrimp is fine.

yes i have seen it poop and it looks pretty pathetic , i have had him about a month to 2 months , think i will move the clowns ,and try and feed it the frozen cubes ,shrimp and maybe get some oyster eggs .
About a week it the look changed it still looks good but its concerning ,arms are shorter and some are deflated .
I have a feeling its the clowns stealing the food right out of it ,they arent eating it tho just taking it out and throwing it .
Today i fed the anemone and kept shooing them away but in the end they took it right from the mouth .
I think it could be from my own inexperiance.
we are going to try and catch the clowns tonight in the dark .
also i was thinking , maybe put him higher to the light .
we are going to look into better lighting soon

OK i got the clowns in the other tank .
the anemone now has its mouth open ,i have frozen cubes thawing ,rotifiler and reef mix frozen cube .
will see if it can eat in peace now

quicker way ive found to thaw the cubes is to just put them in a little bit of tank water, let them melt, then poor them into a fish net, shake it a bit, then dump it back into a new batch of tank water. Keeps the crap out of the tank, only takes a few minutes, keeps my cat from eating the cube while it thaws ;)

how did it go? I do think better lights will help it. Move it up to the top until you can get better lights. That's so odd that your clowns were stealing food from it. They're supposed to help it eat, that's their job, the little devils. :)
