Not to miss in Vegas

looking at the Wynn or bellagio booking next week so got to make my mind up!!

3rd row huh not bad for on the day! gonna look for tickets in a bit see what i can find

Cirque du Soleil's standards aren't where they used to be. Ka was a waste of time - it is mostly showing off how cool their moving stage is. O was a lot of fun - but there were a TON of places they could have done amazing acrobatics, or trapeze work, or something, and put in gags instead.

Bellagio's "Olives" restaurant was very excellent. If you sit on the balcony, you can watch their water fountain show during dinner.

Paris' "Village" buffet restaurant wasn't as good as the long line indicated.

I can't think of which hotel off the top of my head (i'll think about it), but they had a huge saltwater aquarium behind their check in desk...

Caesar's shopping area had a saltwater aquarium as well, across from the Cheesecake Factory.

I was there for three days, we walked through all the crazy hotels (some were cooler than others), went to O and Ka, and the ncame home. More or less.
:P

Mandalay Bay has a Shark reef that's ok, but nothing horribly special. (I may have been disinterested since I had been at the Monterrey Bay Aquarium earlier in the week.) If you're any sort of Star Trek fan from hardcore to watch it if nothing else is on, you've got to check out the Star Trek attraction at the Hilton. It's amazing and has two really good shows and a museum of Star Trek stuff as well as a restaurant and the typical overpriced gift shop. You can easily spend a day or two just wandering up and down the strip. There's a big aquarium inside the mall at Caesar's Palace that offers a daily behind the scenes tour of how exactly they run it. I was unfortunate enough to not find this out until the last day I was there and I was too late for the tour.

Man, this is sad. I've lived there for 11 years now, and the tourists know more!

BTW, Star Trek is all right, but it's no wheres near as good as it was on opening night. Might not notice it if you've never been there before.

I forgot to mention the M&M store on the south end of the strip. It's got 4 (or is it 5) floors of chocolatey goodness with the top floor being an exhibit on how M&M's are made. It's free and worth it.

And of'coase there's always the Liberace Museum....

Once, when we were out there, my uncle and his "friend" came from California to meet us, this was on the top of their to-list

I hate to add more on the awesomeness of the Star Trek Experience because being a Trekkie damages my credibility I think, but I have to add this. The transporter sequence in the Klingon Encounter is beyond amazing. If you didn't know for certain that you weren't transported you'd swear you were. For a moment I seriously thought I was transported somewhere even though I knew I wasn't.
