Nova Extreme HO Light t-5 Fixture

Thats the exact one I'm getting however the 48" 4 bulb series is actually rated at 120 watts, I made sure to check into it and read the reviews, so far I think it's an awesome system for the money.

the lighting fixture itself is only rated on the website as 108watts, I checked into it and the fixture itself is actually rated as 120watts. I'm only going by what I have seen from the company.

That's why several of us on your thread were concerned about too much lighting, 4w/gallon is a lot of light even with CO2, LOL, not that I do CO2. I thought you might be thinking NO rather than HO T5s

Well the website finally updated its info on the lighting, they have it corrected to 216, well now I knwo the info they had listed before was incorrect, thanks

If you're putting this over a 55gal, only use 2 bulbs even with Co2 addition. And if you ever move this light to a larger tank, the capacity is there, sort of future proofing your investment.

I do and the darn thing almost caught fire, lucky I was home. Dr. Foster is sending me a replacement.
48" x 5-1/2" Freshwater; 108 watt, Nova Extreme SLR T-5 Fixtures.
I also use a Finnex T5 HO 39 watt x 2 light fixture without bulbs: $79.95 Each for my 30g and I am very happy with it, so far.

Nova has individual reflectors, Finnex does not. I am not sure if it matters that much in my case.

Wow that is pretty intense! I've been thinking about going this route for lights aswell.

Does anyone know if http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=16770 that light is HO like this light http://www.thatpetplace.com/pet/prod/236415/i/7/product.web?

I'm looking to put one over my 29G tank and if that goes well possibly my 40G too. Just wondering which one I should get for growing low-med light plants.

Also is the fan noise really that big of a deal? My tanks are both in my bedroom but the lights are only on until I go to bed. So I figure it wouldn't be that big of a deal but alot of people say it's really annoying...
