Funny you should mention that becasue I had made the mistake of deciding after I thought I was done to take out a scratch with 220 grit sandpaper, thinking I could localize a polishing in spot to take out a DEEP scratch, wrong!.
So I had to do the whole thing all over again and what you want to do to avoid my mistake is this. Decide before you start what DEEP scratches you want to remove and sandpaper them in the localized spot with progressively smother sandpaper i.e 220-400-600. Once you get past 600 on all the small localized spots where you have removed scratches then you must sand block the
entire affected panels progressively with 800-1000-2000. After that you polish with Novus 3 then 2.
Once you have reached this stage there is no going back unless you want to start all over again otherwise you will have visible blotches of areas you sanded more then others.
This is not a very hard job becasue acrylic is soft and sandpaper really cuts down the scratches and oxidation, all Novus 3& 2 really do is polish. Since now I know how and what to do the whole tank could have taken me about 2 man hours total or 1/2 a day with brakes. Once you have finished, clean all DRY surfaces with with cotton or microfiber cloth damp with RO not tap water and never ever use a paper towel as wood scratches.
That is it I'm done and here are the final pics, one from the side showing the Novus bottle at the far end outside of the tank. Remember I did very little polishing to the top panel and absolutely no polishing to the bottom.
