Nutrient Rich Sandy Substrate

I'm looking for a nutrient rich substrate thats light sand in colour and can be used on its own

kind of like eco-complete, except sand in colour

any suggestions? :read:

you can use a layer of regular nutrient rich substrate like eco complete/flourite and top it with 2-3" of sand. Will promote good root growth in all plants.

even dark red / brown would be ok - could i use laterite topped with sand?

can go for regular flourite, it might be better than just laterite

Remember you are adding 1" of flourite (any color) + 2-3" of sand. Even if you do have black substrate underneath it wont show with all the sand covering it.

There is also Flourite Onyx sand

Wish I could find the thread on using sand as a substrate for you. Look around there had been a good one. Sand is not nutrient rich and does not retain nutrients well in and of itself. Layering with laterite and flourite seems to be the common rec.

the malaya is a nice brown colour (i think)

saw it recommended with ada power sand, which goes on bottom and which on top?
