NYC Water

So I am having problems with my tank water...ITS ALWAYS GREEN...my guess is that its the city water...I been a fish owner for 6 years, 3 years in Washington DC (never had problems), 3 years in NYC and I cant stop it from turning green any suggestions...

I live in NYC...and many of my fish buddies also live in NYC. None of us ever have problem with our water.

The green water you mentioned sounded more like algae kinds.
