Oceanic BioCube 8 gallon nano

Thanks for all the compliments guys! I am loving the new sexy shrimp- they are even cool enough to star in my new avatar that I made, lol.:grinyes: They have been hanging out around the red discosoma "busten a moov" since I added them.

what do you dose your tank with on a regular basis
I don't dose my tank at all. If I feel sometime down the road that the tank is lacking in something, I will look into dosing. Until then, this tank is an exercise in the KISS (keep it simple, stupid) principle. I do water changes about once a week and use IO salt. I'm not huge on IO but it's sooo much easier to just bring home water from my LFS job than to get off my lazy butt and mix my own, lol. The coral is all doing fantastic and perams all check out perfect, so I'm not really feeling the need to change anything ATM.

Hello there, You seem to have a great cube going there. I was wondering if you found the thing that was lost in the tank? I have gone to a LFS near us and have found fish in the overflow trap in the back of there large Cube twice now. I open it and check when I go there now. They were both alive when I found them.

I did not find the goby in the back chambers. I guess he's around in the main part somewhere.

it's funny cause the last one was a goby.

im officially jelous...

I don't have any great news tonight... first of all, I re-scaped the tank and I hate the way it looks, lol. But I was tearing the tank apart to look for the goby and I couldn't really get it all put back together. Plus, I never even found the goby anyway, I just screwed up the aesthetics of the tank.

At this point, I guess I should assume the worst about the goby (aptly named, Waldo). I checked the back chambers with a flashlight just last night, and tonight I moved every rock in the tank and still didn't find him. Strangely enough, my levels were still perfect tonight- ammo, trite, trate 0, pH 8.4 (VERY happy about pH). I did a water change anyway, about 40%. My corals are PISSED from all the moving. I hope I didn't just nuke my tank.

just kinda a fyi, I had a green clown goby at one point in time, he was kept in a critter keeper which was roughly about 1 gallon while i was waiting for my tank to cycle. and basically submersed the unit in a 90 gallon, anyways i lost him in this , spent over 3 hours looking for him in a very small very much no where to hide tank. and finally i found him. how i moved every live rock bit the all of 5 of them, and missed him over and over and over.. is beyond me. he was hiding.

p.s how do you have your back chambers set up

I'm running the tank stock with just one exception: I ditched the bio balls and filled chamber 2 with lr rubble instead. Chamber 2 is so full of rubble that there's no way IMO that he could be down there... but I didn't pull the rubble out to look there either. I did check the other 2 chambers with a flashlight, and not surprisingly, found nothing. At this point I'm just waiting and still hoping that he shows up.

Ok, time for another update. I re-did the ugly aquascape.. thank goodness.
I haven't had any new additions other than the green finger leather a couple weeks ago, although I'm seriously considering adding a small cynaria coral (not the scolymia that I thought it was, lol). I took every single rock out of the tank again tonight in hopes that I would find the green clown goby. I didn't find him.... AGAIN. :( My shrimp are still doing great though, so at least that's something. At this point, I'm waiting on my boss to get in some hi-fin banded gobies and pistol shrimp. I'd like a shrimp/goby pair.:)

Anyway, here is the new scape, and some coral pics.:) Hope you like.

Here are some zoo's that I figured for dead, that are actually coming back from the past attempt:

So that's my update... now I just need to wait until I can get my banded goby and pistol shrimp!!!

Any thoughts on whether I can add a cleaner shrimp to this tank? I really like them, but I don't know if they are too big for this setup.

And any opinions are most welcome on the aquascape.:)
