Oceanic BioCube 8 gallon nano

Wow, thanks! I've only been keeping sw for about 13 months so I'm certainly no expert, lol.

woa woa woa, i was told i couldent keep any corals in my 8 g bio cube. is it the same lighting or do people hate me for some reason?

Thanks:)

You can keep soft corals and some of the easier lps corals, like frogspawn and candy cane, etc. I use the stock lighting and my corals are doing well.

Is it the same stock lighting? As long as its the 2x18w you should be fine. However there are many corals you can't keep with it. You just have to know which ones you can keep with it.

Any heater?

Stupid question: Do you have a heater installed in the tank? I just purchased one of these Oceanic BioCubes last night (8 gal on sale in Natick MA for $99 minus a $25 mail in rebate!), and they sold me a 50w. I didn't see a heater installed in yours, but maybe it's submerged somewhere that the pics don't show, or you live in a really warm climate?

I'm setting up two of these. One for coral / small fish and shrimp, much in the way you have it, and the other for small seahorses. This is my first foray into saltwater and figured a Nano would be a good way to start (yes, I know they're more volitale...)

I do have a heater. It's a very small Whisper heater and I put it in the first chamber so it's hidden. I think the heater is like 25W. The temp in my tank stays at 80-81.

I don't know what the minimum tank size for seahorses would be, but I was thinking it was somewhere along the lines of a 20H. I've been keeping FW for about 5.5 years and SW for about a year and a half now and I still wouldn't dare to try seahorses, lol. They are quite demanding as I understand. I'd like to see a progress thread if you decide to go through with it!:)

And BTW, WELCOME TO AC! :D

I have a hi-fin banded goby as the only fish, and will not be adding any other fish. I'm planning on getting a pistol shrimp and seeing if they will pair up. As for corals, I have a frogspawn, rhodactis mushrooms, discosoma mushrooms, a green finger leather, a devil's hand leather, and various zoanthids. I think that's it, lol.
