FLUFFY IS ALIVE!?
haha your not going to believe this AC. i woke up this morning to find fluffy perched on a rock staring at me like nothing happened. my dad and i saw what look to be the chopped remains of an octo in the water pump and he looked to be absent from the tank for over a day. the theories is he got his arm chewed up then went to find his way back to the nice safe tank(this might explain the ammonia spike). i haven't been able to get a look at all of his legs so i cant confirm that.that would explain the ammonia spike
problem...the water quality is still terrible, i did a two gallon water change but thats all the water i have rite now since i hadn't been saving it up and i ripped of the netting covering the overflow. the good news is when i saw ammonia showing up on the water test i put some activated carbon in the filter that i got earlier that day just out of curiosity. so hopefully that helped with the water conditions.
im really weirded out -.-
now hes moving about in the tank probably searching for food.
ack sorry to got all of you feeling bad about it.
[EDIT] oh and i ordered a better camera canona570is (iso16 7mb and image stabilization)
[EDIT] now i don't know where he is again...hope hes not getting into more trouble.....
I'm very glad Fluffy is still alive.Make sure to cover all escape routes again.he seems like a pretty tough octopus so keep up the good work and feed him well. Those arms will grow back soon. They are VERY smart animals so maybe he has learned a valuable lesson from this adventure too.
Stay Fluffy....stay....good boy....now heres a little silverside for you.I would also try some fresh shrimp to give him a little variety.Good luck with him and keep us posted with info and pics.
i went out and got some new netting for the overflow and iv got a tight seal on it now(as well as some minor burns) i also got some distilled drinking water do to another water change...this should be safe rite?
