no cheesecloth. iv thought about pantyhose but it seems like they would be just as fine if not finer than the net already on there.

Hmmm what about a fish net? You could cut it and use it?

the little green net i have isn't big enough to cover the opening,iv already checked the kitchen for any mesh bags. iv even checked through my cloths to see if theirs a section of lace big enough.
What about turning off the overflow just for tonight and letting it be blocked if you have circulation elsewhere?
because of of how the system II is built, no overflow means no filtration...for a few hours this might be okay but not for the entire time that im at school...though compared to the other possablities, it might be the best option
another plan is to cut bigger holes in the netting...this would meant the octopus could get through it it really tried. the section imedietly after the overflow it the prefilter. if i put a cover over this section i can hop that the octo doesn't make it past the net and prefilter. so far im thinking this is my best chance.
Man.. the picture of this octopus better be worth it... I open this thread every time there is an update. Haha.
