fluffy is still alive and seemingly well. i gave him a silver sider to eat today and he seemed to like it. im a little worried because he hasn't made any effort to build a den but other than that no complaints.

That is great. I was talking with a firiend about keeping an octopus the other day before I found this thread. It's deff out of my league for now but I think its fantastic. Keep up the great work.

iv disappointed you all and lost an amazing creature. i checked the amonia in the tank after not being able to see the octopus. they tested at .5 . if amonia was not the the cause of death its the result. my best guess as to cause of death is that the octopus didn't really eat the silver sider and it was left to decompose spiking ammonia and killing it. i should have been more carefull. no...i shouldn't have gotten an octopus in the first place as i lacked crucial experience. it was foolish me to go after something like an octopus as a first aquarium pet. I know some of you got your hopes up and so did i. im sorry. people tried to warn me against it over and over but i didn't listen.
it is o.k people have to screw up once in a while I know that probably didn't lift your spirits, But I hope that next time will be a succes. Don't be soo mad at yourself, you didn't second guese your disicion of feeding him which is good.
