Well, you've gone and done it. I'm going to have to set up one of my tanks for an octopus.

I had an octopus many years ago that laid eggs which subsequently hatched. Her name was Melody and I believe she was an O. vulgaris as she was about 30" or so tip to tip. Unfortunately, the brine shrimp didn't hatch and the mortality rate on the young was high. They were very cute and only about a dime's width tip to tip. Melody died a week or so after the babies hatched.

I'll be sure to post when I'm close to being ready to set it up.

cant wait Nolapete! what species do you plan to get?

when i got home today fluffy was up against the tank and didn't appear to be breathing. i kept cheeking for the next hour and he hadn't moved. but then i turned on the tank light and he scooted back into his normal spots. as it turns out he was laying over the filter output area and as far as i could tell he was letting the filter breath for him! lol gave me a scare though.

all the sails i put in the tank(8) are gone now, guess he like es-car-go (spelling impaired) 4 of the original 12 hermits are still doing fine. i havn't seen the star for about a week but i assume its under the sand.
