Odyssea CFS 500 -- massive drop in performance even with new media. Help!

CWO4GUNNER i am thinking of buying one of these filter.I know version 1 had lid problems and o-ring problems that were fixed in version 2.Have you heard anything about a version 3 model or is the ebay seller just pulling my leg? Btw i took your advice and bought a fluval fx5 i love it.I also bought a sunsun MODEL HW-MODEL HW-404B
that has me a little stumped atm.Its been running on my 125 gal sa tank with the fx5.I have cleaned the fx5 2 times and bought it months after buying the 404b.When i tore the sunsun down to clean it the other day it was much to my surprise just somewhat dirty.I just expected it to be alot dirty.Any suggestions on what to look for with the sunsun and as earlier stated have you heard anything about a v3 cfs 500?

Nothing about the new CFS500 as I stopped buying them after the 2nd one. Im pretty much strictly a FX5 guy now. Im also into sumps if Im stacking large tanks the bottom tank serving as a sock-sump holder. I still have 1 Sunsun online but like any stacked basket filter that draw water from the lid lifting media off its baskets and suspending debris back into the tanks, instead of pumping from the base and pining debris against the media, its makes for OK filter. You can improve the Sunsun by placing rocks on top of each media sponge to hold it down but you still have plenty of bypass around the baskets and tubing because they are not sealed tight with O-rings. Nonetheless the Sunsun is just as effective as other basket filters costing hundreds more, but they are simply outclassed by circumference designed filters like the FX5, Magnum , Hot Magnum, Ocean-Clear, pool filters, and modified CFS500
