I'm in university, and we're not supposed to have a tank in our little university-owned apartments. So, i obviously listen to the rules.. :dance:

I am careful to do major cleaning after hours. I used to have an open 2.5 gallon..one woman almost laid some papers on it, and another twit kept trying to pet my betta. This one is a 5 gallon corner eclipse. No one messes with it. I even have it on a timer so the light comes on and off by itself. Just feed daily, except Sundays.
