Idk on shrimp i will love some cherry red shrimp but they dont sell none around my lfs's and i will put in a couple of ghost shrimp and yes i am planning on putting something on the filter...
1 concern wont puting something on the filter cause it to loose power because my filter has low power already...???????????

1. Is there anything wrong with me planting the swords in the pot ?
After making sure that the wood was cleaan now it has made its way back into the tank...

agreed with taking off the pot also pull off some of the peat around the roots then you can break the microsword up and plant little pieces all over the tank that will make a nice carpet. Get some water sprite and maybe a anubias nana. They are easy to keep plants. Maybe some java moss around the wood also?
Just about exactly what i was thinking... make sure you get the roots free peat and plant it around the tank. Try some tall plants in and around the driftwood. Some java fern, vals and such would be great. I am a fan of the anubias nana. I dont have any yet, but plan to!
You have a great piece of driftwood! Hopefully all the boiling and scrubbing will work out great and you will have no problems with it.
Well that dosent sound so good. If it does (knock on wood) hoping it dosent then i will go to petco or search around for a nice piece at a good price...
