Here's the updated pictures with dead rock. I spent most of the weekend looking for large water carriers and was stymied.

Next weekend we'll add water, about 20-30 pounds of liverock, and 20lbs of livesand.

Great progress....look forward to seeing the water, LR and LS added. What are your plans for powerheads?

I've got an Aquaclear 70 on it for bio filtration (will be filled with LR rubble). I've got a Maxi-jet 900 with a sponge filter as well. I'm thinking about adding a third powerhead, but I'm not sure. Right now I'll only have about 10x flow and not a lot of rock.

Live rock (not very much, but it's lovely rock), live sand, and another powerhead.

I feel really stupid. 2 hours after I bought the live rock, a guy in the local reef club sold offered 70 pounds of beautiful rock for $2.50 a pound... sigh. Oh well.

So I now have about 2-3 inches of sand (half live sand). About 45 pounds of LR (not quite enough, but pretty good). An aquaclear 70, Maxijet 900 (wth sponge filter) and Koralia 1.

I'll have better pics when the cloudiness clears up.

Nice start, how come you haven't filled the tank to the top?

There's a highly technical reason... I forgot. I was on Apistia hunting missions.

Now I have to get RO to keep evaporation down. 2 days and I'm already up in my salinity.

I've also got a lovely little shrimp in a ziploc with a bunch of holes in it floating in the tank. My wife thought I was crazy when I came in with the shrimp from HEB and said, 'Look, our first shrimp!'

Awesome Hitchhiker

my first shroom. There's a much smaller one (about half dime sized) near the top of the rock. The big one is a bit bigger than a quarter. blue/green center with blue/green spots.

Now, how do I take care of it?
