Ogre's 44g Build

sorry for the delay in response i had it on its legs. and an open top tank so no real heating issues. The long sides are parallel to the the shorter sides directly across from them. and is around 23" apart. I would recommend no fewer than 4 bulbs of t-5 on that tank. They are really deep. But i used a current 2x24w on mine then i swapped up to a 75 gallon. With that depth i would definitely look around for a 250w pendant hung from the ceiling if possible. That's just my opinion. Its looking very nice though and watch out about them flat worms i was in a petstore when a lady brought some mushrooms in them on there and they were tearing the mushrooms up. Luckily the shop keeper saved the mushrooms. he used something like flatworm exit.

Big update. It's been a while and my computer is dead. I'm borrowing a little laptop for a while until Win7 comes in.

Tank updates... Just did a water change. Still no fish, that'll be soon I hope. However, coral are going crazy. The bird's nest has increased about 50%. The torch (started with 2 heads), now has five heads. The trumpet coral has a new head. The leather has split and we're up to four heads on that one. We started with 4 mushrooms (3 different kinds) and we're up to 11. (I didn't know they could move!).

I've got a bumper crop of money algae (which is cool with me). I trim it when it gets long and that helps remove nutrients.

Like I said, still no shrimp or fish, but the fallow period is about over and we'll have fish soon.
