Wow.....wonder what happened to THIS little girl !!

I took a look in the tank this am and noticed something odd about her...she was fine last night as far as I know....can't imagine what happened here ! It looks like she's had a really bad bump to her nose....Poor thing !

Any ideas ??

Yikes,
Watch carefully - maybe get ready to do the antibiotic thing? One of my deceased rams began the illness with inflamed nares. If it is just an injury, hopefully it will heal on it's own. I'd be watching for secondary infections...
Hope she gets better emg!

I've lost multiple rams to the same sort of thing...also make sure you water quality is impeccable...when they get that sort of wound it gets infected so easily

I have her isolated right now. Changing her water every day, but we're leaving on vacation on Sat.....won't be able to have her taken care of properly while I'm away. Just have to wait and see how she does. I have someone coming over a couple of times while we're gone, but not every day. She's looking a bit better and I'm trying to decide if I should put her back in the tank with the others, or leaver her in the little hangon tank she's in now.

BTW....I do water changes in this tank 2-3 times a week ! It's a 29 planted and anytime I notice the water getting just a bit less "prestine" than I like....out comes the syphon and bucket !

On the lighter side...

Perhaps the female Ram is on her period and that's just a big ZIT on her nose! LOL

Oh then that's an easy fix, just throw some chocolate in there

My female Salvini looks like that every time she locks jaws with her boyfriend during spawning/courtship. If the water is in good shape, she'll heal on her own very fast and she doesn't seem too bothered by it.
