Oh No! I think I just lost my favorite snail!

pardon my pictures. I didn't want to move him again since I've already moved him twice. He's still playing dead but every now and then I see him move one of his attenas. I was looking at him closer up since he can't hide in the 1 gallon and it looks like the whole front part of his shell where the mating v was has broken off. :(

Coincidentally, one of mine took a 4-foot fall out of my aquarium a couple of days ago, and is also going through sort of a go-stop-go-stop thing.
 
Oh no! Thankfully he didn't fall. This is from too much mating. They were going at it like crazy for weeks. Then he was riding around on her back for about another week. I separated them for a few days and during that separation is when the V started to turn into a crack.
 
That is pretty severe. Definitely drop your temp. The white that you see is calcification from the inside out. This snail needs lower temps and some good food. I would defnitely consider this severe, I am unsure how to direct you further because of the breadth of hte fissure. It absolutely needs to be isolated from other snails.
 
Yeah, I think I misread your original post. I'm just so out of it right now...
 
He may not eat calcium pills, but if you look in the snail food thread stickied at the top of this forum there are recipes for calcium-rich snail jello, among other things. Berry flavoured Tums taste significantly better than calcium pills, so he may eat those, and collard greens are high in calcium as well.
 
He seems to be having a hard time moving. He's been laying on the bottom all day. I just moved him closer to the glass. He had his siphon up so it looked like he was trying to get up but wasn't able to. He's very slowly trying to attach now. He hasn't ate anything today. There's a tomatoe, cucumber, spinage, algae wafers, romain lettuce, and boy choy and he's ignoring all of it. Can you tell that I ordered a salad today just for him? LOL. I don't have access to a store so I had to order the gelatin and baby food. It's on its way. Hopefully it gets here in time. Anything else I can do in the meantime? Should I pick him up and bring him out of the water for air? Maybe put in an extra air stone?

Is the 1g tank you have him in being filtered? Clean water is pretty important at this point, you might want to consider isolating him in your regular tank (or something more stable than a 1g) in a breeder trap. I don't know if picking him up for air is necessary, probably just stress him out some more.
