with 30 inches...I am hoping that 8x54 watt t5 ho's will be enough. But we want it heavily planted. We also don't have a giant gourami to eat all the plants.

Well 432 watts of light is a lot! But without CO2 I am growing mostly algae. So yesterday I installed a powerhead reactor. Going to hook up the DIY CO2 bottle today and see what happens... maybe I can have the lights on for more than 2 hours a day.
I hid the power reactor behind my giant amazon sword.
and the rest of the tank...

... found out today that the pair of plants on either side of the reddish rock is Dracaena sanderiana and is not aquatic... no wonder it isn't growing at all.
Here's a video. I'll probably have to get rid of the goldfish don't you think?

yesterday we got some spectracide stump remover, fleet enema, and epsons salt.
Please someone reassure me that I am doing the right thing here...
I started with 2 liters of water. added 11 tsp stump remover and 2 tsp epsons salt.
here is the tricky part. here is a pick of the back of the enemas we got.
So from my calculations I got 33 mL of this solution added to my 2 liters of water.
The plan is to dose 15 mL of my solution every other day and 50% water change every week.
Please double check my math for me.
