I have been out of the salt scene now for about 9 Months because of my wife having a baby and financial complications. But now I found a deal I don’t think I can pass up http://york.craigslist.org/for/843404345.html

I am so excited to be getting this system hopefully if the dude calls me or emails me back I know he still has it. So that is a plus. The lighting alone is worth this price. It will be a jump down from my 120 gal but to a more manageable amount I think.

I am a little nervous though the guy has not emailed me or called me. But he has not said if it was sold or not. So all I can do is wait and hope.

Ace you have a floating Reef, Why did you go with that instead of just a normal tank?

lol, what IS a "normal" tank these days? My reasoning for floating reef was the following:

1. Wanted a DSB - Didn't want to bury base rock that deep and waste the space for the DSB.

2. I love gobies, so I needed sand anyway, and didn't want any landslides from gobies digging.

3. I was moving to a SPS coral tank and needed the most flow, I figured a 1200GPH floating reef was a good start to boosting flow in the tank.

I have seen several people in my reef club already have floating reefs, mainly on a barebottom SPS tank, but not part of a closed loop system. I decided to be different and incorporate the closed loop and floating reef into one thing. I think it worked out great.

GOOD news I am going to pick up everything tomorrow Morning! Yes. So since I learned everything from my first tank,120FOWLR. I wont make the same mistakes
Like not leveling the tank and a lot of other things.

I am hoping that a 70gal will be a little more easier to maintain. I really hate the evaporation on tanks.
