Ohh no

Is that anything like those giant jars of jelly beans where you guess how many are in there?

i can't find the picture now, but in a random gogle search i found a page selling these hanging fish tanks. they were 10 gallons, or so the site claimed and round, with two sides in a white frame of some kind. in one picture they showed like 5 goldfish in it, and in the other picture they showed 2 oscars. i emailed the website and yelled at them. never got a reply.

I would be sooooooo afraid that it'd either leak everywhere, or that it would be so heavy that it would crash to the floor. And sorry, have a hard time trusting in that "self-contained" nonsense.

"Total plug-and-play, just add decoration, water, and fish and you're ready to go." Really?!? No cycling or ANYTHING?!? woohoo. PUH-Leeeeeeze.

And who wants a $150+ 4.5 gal tank?? lol Too crazy.

Although.... "BONUS: Free extra replacement filter" Yay!!

It could be a nice decoration minus the fish. Add some plants and maybe some small invertebrates like shrimp or snails to it.

what I would worry about is how heavy it would be. 4.5 gallons that would be, with decorations and such, around 45 pounds try hanging that up like a regular picture.

Thats not too heavy if mounted on a stud with mollies, but how many people are going to use a 16 penny through the drywall instead?

Far too many I imagine. A stud can easily hold that weight but I doubt too many people are going to think about that or read it in the instructions assuming it mentions that tidbit of info.
