That's what I was getting at. This stuff doesn't gross unless it has something to feed on, most nuisance algaes are a result of impurities in the water source.

im using regular dechlorinated tap water that i keep premixed and ready to go.....
id DI just distilled water? can i use the stuff that walmart sells in the gallon jugs?
i know you can buy RO from your LFS but wouldnt there be a risk in that? i mean like getting any diseases or anything that they may have in their tanks?

RO water wouldn't come from their tanks. The use an RO/DI filter on regular tap water and then sell the filtered water to you as RO/DI water. No worries re disease.
