Ok All You Computer Folks - Laptop Help

Thanks for clarifying the return policy. I looked at netbooks, but the keypad is too small for my husband's pointer finger (he types with just one). He tried one at Best Buy and kept hitting 2 keys at once. I guess being 6'4" with big hands has it's drawbacks.

After looking on that site, can anyone tell me about the Lenovo G550? Is it reliable, etc? Any glaring drawbacks? Thanks guys.
i know the feeling i hate anything other then normal keyboards. i really dont even like laptops since the keys are moved around a little.

well the Lenovois a open box item so that might turn you away.... the Lenovo has 6 cell battery the dell a 4 cell meaning longer battery life. the lenovo has a web cam built in also. the dell has a tad bigger screen tad faster cpu... has win7 64bit which the lenovo has 32bit.

A Lenovo G550 would be a great laptop, more than what you would need for browsing the internet and reading email. I wish I had bought a Lenovo a year ago when my wife and I bought an HP. In less than a year it went back for the screen to be replaced, the internal microphone just stopped working one day, and the screen is having problems again. Googling revealed its pretty common with HP DV series laptops, I wish HP would take it back as a lemon.

One other option for you, which could be cheaper... have you tried getting rid of XP and installing something like Ubuntu instead? We have an old laptop that has similar specs and runs Ubuntu fine. If nothing else it might put some more life into your current laptop while you save up or spend some more time looking for a new one.
