so yesterday i went to the pet store to get ideas for a 20 gallon that i found. i currently have a 55 gallon with a breeding pair of jack dempseys. i also have a 60 gallon with two male jack dempseys which i am thinking of getting rid of. so while im at the pet store i have a thought... why not get covicts so i will have free feeders! problem is i only have a 20 gallon empty. so now i know i need another tank for the covicts or possibly use one of the larger tanks i have now. question is what is the smallest size tank i can get away with for a breeding pair of black convicts?

Probably nobody likes the idea of using convicts as feeders because most people keep them as pets. Like most people wouldn't eat a dog or cat, but a cow? sure. My wife always gets mad at me when I try to suggest feeding our cat to my lizard, but what's really the difference between a cat an a rat?

I say if it's financially feasable, go for it. But raising your own feeders generally isn't. Why not just buy a ton of 10cent goldfish and keep them in the spare tank?

well i already got two females... they didnt have any males. and wont untill wednesday. and to be honest..... ive already got attached. i dont know what i was thinking. ive never been able to feed my fish feeders. i know they need them... but i feel like im killing something. so now i guess im just going to keep an all female tank. thanking god there werent any males the day i went to buy them. or id be turning my house into an aquarium lol.
