OK to mix beta w/ goldfish?

Someone I know left state, & left behind a beta. Is it wise to mix it with my fantail, oranda, & pleco?

It probably won't be okay. Bettas and goldfish require different water temperatures, and bettas tend to be aggressive towards fish with long fins, I think they think they are other bettas. It would be best to set up a separate home for the betta.

If space and $$ permit, consider a small tank ... the betta will love the extra room, and you will love the easier maintenance

Im not sure but a 10 gallon might be a little to small for a goldy.

I think the 10 gallon is meant for the betta.... I'm hoping the 2 goldfish and the pleco are in something bigger... at the very least a 30 gallon, better yet a 55...

That profile is so wrong it's not even funny any more. That's a profile for a goldfish or dojo, not a betta.

Bettas are best from 79-82*, but many people keep them at 75*-80*.

Fancy Goldfish shouldn't be kept any higher than 78*, IMO, and 72-75* is better for them. Mine stress out at temps higher than 75*.
