Yep, with out a doubt it is Aiptasia. If that is the only one on the rock, You can take the rock out of the water over a container and get underneath the anemone to scrape it off gently. Then take some salt water and rinse the spot off. If you see more of them, you may want to think about taking it back unless you want to deal with them which isnt the worst thing in the world. If you think about taking it back, you will want to call them and let them know for fear that they wont take it back and the rock will be in the bag for quite some time.

will scraping this off and rinsing with saltwater keep it from coming back? I've always heard that you have to inject them with something? It looks like the only one on the rock.

If you remove the rock from your tank, and make sure to remove all bits, it will work. Rinsing should flush away fragments, and prevent it from coming back. Dosing with kalkwasser works as well, but you run the risk of a chunk floating away--and this chunk will grow into another one.
Aiptasia are very bad. They will sting corals and fish, and spread like a weed. Worse than a dandelion, IMO.

I have taken your advice and gotten rid of that apastia ... I took the rock out of the water and scraped off the apastia and then even went as far as to scrape down a bit father into the rock (it was pretty soft and easy to do) just to make sure I got everything! Then I rinsed and scraped the area one more time andf rinsed again. I did a thoughrough check and that one seems to be the only one on the rock so I think I lucked out there!
On a lighter note, I did notice a TON of coepods on this new rock so I'm thrilled with that and there seems to be something LIVING in one of the crevaces on top the rock between the mushrooms. It has long white tiger-striped legs (like a serpent star) **I've only seen 2 so far** and is quite tiny ... the legs are just about the thickness of a thick quilting needle and so far I've seen about 1/2 an inch or so. Can't wait to see what it actually is!
