ok what are guppie plants?

Its a plant. Guppy grass is a pretty easy plant to grow, as such its pretty common the hobby because its not demanding.
Plants in an aquarium are desirable because

Plants use nitrate and phosphate (from fish waste) and to a lesser extent calcium and magnesium (reduce water changes and improve water quality).
Plants expel oxygen through their leaves as a result of photosynthesis, increasing the amount of O2 available for your fish and making a GREAT surface for the colonization of nitrifying bacteria (which helps augment your bio filter)
They provide a hiding spot for fry so they don't get eaten.
And they look pretty.
What's not to like?

If you have enough light on your tank to grow guppy grass (or other live plants) I highly recommend them.

IME what it does is run amok and grow so thick the fish can barely get around if you don't thin it out occaisonally.

Breed guppies for years and never used it. Used duckweed and other floating plants. I have it in several tanks and it will run amoake.

uh huh, guppy grass.....grows like astroturf and is kida ugly....and they still eat their young.
jave moss, anachrious (elodea) cheaper easier to manage and better looking. besides the fry will nibble on the stuff that accumulates on the elodea and moss
i just leave the elodea float aorund it grows like a "weed" i anchor the moss..to wood or rocks....or let it float depending on what my laziness guage is reading at the moment..

Amazing how these ancient names still hold. The plant most commonly called "Anacharis" has been known as Egeria densa for around forty years.

I have guppy grass in several tanks, and yeah, it does tend to take over. I find that the Red Cherry Shrimp like it better than the guppies..lol

K cool guys thanks a lot 4 tha question help just wondering I have guppies didn't know if they liked it as tasty treats or not thanks yall!!!!!
