What do you call the things that get put in front of the radiator of a truck to prevent the wind from cooling the engine in the winter? For diesel trucks? I thought they were air dams, but after searching, that doesn't seem to be right....

hehehe, that's what they call it here too..... cardboard..... or if you wanna get fancy, "unfolded box" 
That's what we're trying to avoid! 
In the SCCA circuit, we use to call duct tape "100 mph tape" It was always good up to about 100 mph before it started to peel off .

That is what they call it it in the military too.
