Okay... So I'm Doing Tangs...

Cool deal Rich i am stoked you are in love with the Tangs me as well yeah sounds like what efors said the male is jockeying for attention and a possible mating will ensue.. at any rate great job buddy..

Ladies and Gents... I have to move on Aug. 1 to a new house. It is only about 5 minutes around the corner from the one I am currently in, so that is a good thing. but I am still bummed that I have to move this tank, after putting in the work in getting it setup. Anyway, I would love suggestions from anyone who has done it on the least disruptive way to do this, so I can get them right back in the tank at the new location and going strong as quickly as possible. any suggestions appreciated... thanks!

yeah If its only like 5 min away i would get one of the rubber made tubs and place it with your tank water place the fish in there move the tank and then use as much as possible of water in your current setup place the fish back in their setup and top off with new water be like a water change..

^ That's a great idea! Also, keep the filter media inside your current tank's water.

I just take it down to the sand, put all the fish and 30% of the water in a cooler and containers, and move on over. Add your old water, fill and run. You shouldn't have any sort of mini-cycle or anything. Just do it last and dedicate yourself to finishing once you've started.
I'm glad to hear you're enjoying Tangs. Malawis often get all the attention because of their colors but they don't come close behavior-wise.

thanks for all the great suggestions, everyone! and yep... I have come to feel that this tang tank is one of the best tanks I have ever had over my 20 year career in this hobby... and I had malawis once... no comparison, imho.
