Old Cory with New Life!!!

I would like to thank Holly & Swimfins for their advise. I did allot of thinking and my old cory cat was getting more and more inactive these past few weeks, so I bought him 4 buddies and moved them all (after they were in QT) to the 40G tank last night.

HE (the 8 year old cat) WAS LITERALLY DOING A HAPPY DANCE! He hasn't stopped swimming with the others...even if he is bigger/older then them. Right now they are all together taking a little rest on some flat rocks...having a little school of these guys makes me wonder why anyone would want other fish?? They are very funny and entertaining!

Thanks for the information! Does anyone know how to sex cory cats??? I have a feeling that I may have babies with this new bunch!
 
They sound really awesome :) I'm picking up two or three of em per tank this week. Glad to hear they're fun to watch.

Can you show us pictures? I'm curious about what changes I'll have to make to my tank layout to keep them happy.
 
The only real change has been the gallons and the lack of salt (which I was told was probably really bad for him). I will try to post pictures on my site of the new tank (still with baby fry swimming around). Cory cats are the best...they are very active and entertaining in a group. Very picture worthy...

The females are a little larger and fatter, esp when viewed from above. and if you look closely the front fins (i think they're called the pectoral fins) are a little more rounded.

I'll be moving my cichlids into a 60G soon, and the corys are going to have free reign of the 10G soon...
 
I'm glad to hear it:) They really are quite social. I'm sure he's in fishy heaven with pals to play around with:)

Females are plumper and definatley rounder. The males have a bit of a sharper taller top fin. The females topfin is more rounded.
I've got 2 females and a male. I haven't seen eggs however. I think my loaches are eating them if any.
I started out with platy and added the corys and now I still have the origional 2 and a metae I added around last Christmas. They are better in groups yes, they do there own thing but hang together at times. The female albino likes to sleep at the front of the tank and in nearly all my pics, you can see a white blur at the front. The other two are usually under the umbrellas (green lotus plant) :) Hurrray for corydora another of God's little miracles eh?
