OLD JACK DEMPSEY questions

usually pace them in a controlled container..they will eat what you put in the tank and they clean out.
then when preparing them you have a 'clean' source.
you can use worm bedding etc.

I usually lightly squeeze the poo out of the worms.. ;)
thier poo is great for the garden BTW.

I try to encourage red worms in the garden no use of pesticides or ferts.

just mulch.

Ok thanks. This worm thing sounds like and entire other hobby!

well....a sad day has arrived that I new was coming.
I found my old guy dead on the bottom of the tank today.
I will miss him.

deng sorry to hear. He sounds like he was a champ. At least he lived a good life with someone that took care of him. He would want you to get out there and take in other fish that need a good home. It's always hard to lose a fish, but one after so many years is worse. Pour a beer in the tank for the homies.

Jacks live 10-18 years on the average so he is an old man. The older they get, the more sensitive they are to the water. Keep the water as clean as possible and try not to stress him. Slowly add newer foods to his diet as he may need a little more variety.

I feed my O almost exclusively on Hakari Gold since he is a picky eater. But he never turns down a nice fat Canadian Night Crawler. I get him store bought fishing CNC's to help minimize undesired elements as they are factory farm raised and bred.

The sad thing is I have been meaning to take a shot of him for the past few weeks and never got to it..
The last pic I have must be 2 years ago.
I found 1 shot from 06 but he is behind some plants. and a bunch from 05. I will try to post when I get a chance.. I have a bunch from when I first bought him in 2000 I believe.
