I hello I am fairly new aquarist, and I need some help. I have an older 55 gallon marine tank and it was not made with a center brace. I need to purchase a glass top, but all the ones I can find are two pieces which requires a center brace for support. What are my best options.

Do you have a place near you that cuts glass? Lowes used to, don't know if they still do. But you could get a piece of glass cut to your requirements from a place like that.
