Olive Nerite Larvae stage?

you can simply add a calcium pill in right at the larve , see if they eat on it , and it would help with thier hardness for a little while , just make sure no really rare plant is right beside then that needs full soft water ... woudl love to see ho wthis gies for you , as I have seen many eggs, never any babies ... keep us posted !!

Thanks for the advice. I dropped in a calcium pill and it dissolved right away. Its kind of under the plants that the larvae are on but some floated up and laned back on the plants. Will they eat it or absorb it somehow. I put cuttlebone in too for the adult snail. She doesn't seem to interested in it. Hope it works. I will def keep you posted. This is quite exciting!I'm getting some briggs as soon as they are ready. Just getting into the snails and I love them although the Olive Nerite is the only one I have now. So glad I found this forum!! Many nice people who can help educate me! Wooo!

Update if anyone is interested. The olive nerite larvae have gotten a tiny bit bigger and seem to have a hard coating around them. I was cleaning my filter the other day and one clung to the side of a bucket I use to transfer the filter. It felt sort of like a grain of sand. They swarm to the cuttlebone and hang there mostly. No realy physical change so far and haven't turned to snails yet. I really am wondering how long this larvae stage/stages takes. if anyone finds any info on them let me know. Its all very intersting to view though.

Any estimate on the number of larvae? If you have more than a few living this long that's really an accomplishment from what I've read.

There are at least 50 plus. I really didn't think the eggs would hatch at all until I noticed the caps were hanging off then I saw all of these tiny black dots swimming around my plastic plants and gravel. I have a few more eggs that haven't hatched yet and quite a few white eggs that I am sure are infertile because they haven't gotten any darker. I'm curious if they will grow into snails. Its just taking forever.

I have heard up too 2+ months...

Thanks Soundguru! At least that gives me some idea of a time frame. They started hatching on the 13th of march so maybe we will see in a few weeks what happens. maybe when they turn to little snails they will grow quicker and I can get some pictures.

Are they still the "Same Veligers" - April to October seems a long time- could they be dying and being constantly replaced by newly hatched ones?
