I bought my silver arowana for $50 at pet world. It was about 5 inches when i got it.

It's amazing the arowana craze.... petstores here sell them for $40 4'' big and very moody.

Hmmm not sure if this is true but don't all their tanks run on one line? That is what I have heard. I don't know I go to Petland Discounts I found one very good store and the fish I get there are pretty healthy. Good luck hope all goes well since you spent so much.

The problem is that they will likely sell some huge fish to anybody who can pay for them regardless of whether the buyer has the proper tank for them.

Exactly what percent of fishkeepers have the ability to house a catrfish that gets over 3 feet? And for those that do, how many would consider a chain pet store a good place to acquire one?
