Tony, I think he is going to remove his JD as I understand his first post.No worries, it'll be obvious kuhlis will be eaten like worms by JD and he would never have asked for kuhlis if he wanted the JD to stay.

Dang, nice find! I wish I were so lucky. I was looking for a 55 for awhile but people around here keep turtles in there tanks and try to sell the turtles with the tank, bah. 48 x 13 x 21? That's an inch more in depth than my 55 which is 48 x 12 x 21. Those filters you got should be fine for a bit, especially to cycle the tank faster like I'm doing with my Penguin 200. If I were you I'd get a canister filter in the long run. I really like mine with my 55 gal.
actually, i dooped on the measurements. its 48x13x19 (19 being water depth, not full height)
but iam lookin into canister filters. but iam waitin to be re-hired at my old job!
so i will be able to get one.
i have a whisper 20-40 and a penguin 150. the tank shouldnt need much cycling time, seen as the filters are loaded with bacteria. maybe overnight to get all the water clear.
ok so iam thinkin of fish i could get for the tank.

I found my 29 while walking around my block. I found my 10 while driving home. I found a 20 but it wasn't worth the trouble. I think if you keep it in your head that you want and need a tank you become more observant for the finds that are out there.

well he's gunna be in there, but iam gunna make the tank divided in half until i can take him out. with gas prices how they are and my car is an old gas hoggin boat (79 Chevy impala), it might be a while....
i'll try to get pics tonight.
