I finally gave in and got on aquabid. BIG MISTAKE!! Soooo many things that I think I MUST HAVE!! AHHH!! Need more tanks....ugh!!

All I am saying is next time I am stocking a tank, I will def get on there first! I had no idea how much I love swordtails and guppies!

It depends on what you're getting. Paying $20 to ship a couple of $5 per pair of Guppies isn't the same as paying $20 to ship a couple of $50 pairs.
 
Yea, I have never seen guppies, bettas, or swordtails so beautiful!! I would totally buy some if I had enough room for another tank! I'm sure I can find a place for a betta set up, huh???
 
Shipping prices are rough, but the prices and quality of the fish on aquabid are generally better than I can find locally and you cant even find a lot of those fish around here. The way I see it, if you REALLY want a fish and plan to have it for its lifespan, it is worth the extra money. It also helps me so that I do my research first rather than impulse-buying at a pet store.

Just make sure to check the location of the seller. Usually if you live close enough, they would be happy to have you pick the fish up instead or meet you somewhere. Shipping might be expensive, but MY least favorite thing about it is that I am rarely home when the mail comes and with the ranging temps in Wisconsin, it is usually not good to let them sit outside until I get home from work.

Lol!! I try not to order this time of year unless I will be home and I pay for upgraded shipping.
 
It seems like every seller is located in the eastern US, very few in Cali. Nevertheless I had a real good experience ordering from a seller in Florida that goes by "90125". His fish prices are great but only uses priority shipping for $17. yet still guarantees live arrival. I bought 6 tiny rams and they were shipped in breather bags with little yarn mops and an ice pack. His feedback 1800+ 100% positive and well deserved.

I never order in the summer though, we're having triple digit heat lately.
