OMG my mom.

I dont think koi will be a good idea, but adult common/comet/shubunkin goldfish will be great in a pond of that size. koi can reach 36"+ (note the PLUS) I have personally seen koi much larger than 36". My rule of thumb for a koi is 1000G PER adult koi.
those goldfish which I listed reach 16-20" on average.

Ponds a great, lots of fun and really nice to look at. But keep in mind, plan on spending $500-1000 building one, between pond liner, filter stuff, etc. I did all the work myself on mine and built my own filter and it was probabyl a little over $1000 after all was said and done. The big stuff is easy to account for, its all the nickel and dime stuff that adds up before you know it.

I wish my turtle was lucky enough to get a large tank/pond. I got my turtle when I was 4. It was kept in a tiny 4g container because my parents didn't know what to do with it. It had no light, heater, and barely enough room to go over its shell. Now, 8 years later, I have my turtle in a 10g (VERY soon to be 55g). Unfortunatly, my turtle is horribly stunted at 4in...

^ Why not just buy your turtle a rubbermaid tub? You can purchase a 50 gallon one from Wal-mart, Lowes, Target or Home Depot for like $10 bucks.

i used to keep a few painted turtles in a 20 long in the garage at night and move them to a kiddie pool in the yard during the day. then i upgraded to my bathtub. i was a weird kid :D

I agree that rubbermaid containers are very useful in this hobby. you can also get the clear kind so you can kinda see through the side as well.
You can build your own stand out of a lot of things too.
Just keep in mind that if you place it on the floor, then you can't use a regular syphon to clean, you will need a powered one.

ive got a clear container i keep him in

Vicious_Fish, that is what am I getting, the only problem is my parents don't like the idea of a big tub in my room...i'll win them over eventually
