OMG this is so wrong

i can just imagine millions of guppies and goldfish in the oceans

i may be wrong, but i am pretty sure they plan on dosing the entire ocean with this chemical.... :shakehead:

from what i have read, it sounds like this does not work by using acclimated fish.. its water chemistry...

some of the arguments against this idea, is the cross introduction of pathogens/ disease/ paracites that would not normally be prescent in one environment or the other.

That was the first concern that came to mind after I saw that photo. I think this whole thing is a very bad idea. Why do we need to be able to keep FW and SW fish together? I just can't grasp the concept.

Why, just why? There is literally no useful application for this beyond those who want the novelty of keeping fish together that should not be kept together. I wonder how the use of sugars to mimic the mineral content of salt water affects issues like water quality. Additionally, regardless of how well these things work in the sort term, I really can't see the poor fish not suffering some sort of osmoregulatory stress from being kept in these conditions long term. Who knows how being forced to live in these conditions would affect their overall lifespan and quality of life. I wouldn't be surprised if both fresh and salt water fish are more prone to disease and sickness in these set ups. Beyond that, what exactly do we have to gain from being able to do this in the first place? The people who wasted their time on creating this product should have been working on something more societally important instead of creating something that has no purpose aside from allowing them to profit from the uneducated and unethical.

I don't know how easy it is to use but maybe it could be used to simplify saltwater fish keeping

Simplest way to keep saltwater fish?

in salt water!!!!

saltwater is not so hard that we need to take it out of the equation! this just raises the bar for the idiots with ten oscars in a 55, now they can have 5 oscars and five panther grouper in a 55. this is the nuclear warhead of fishkeeping...

lol... the four seahorsemen of the fishpocalypse.
