OMG!!! Whose babies r these?! What do I feed them?!!

I got a little terra cotta pot from home depot for 99 cents, buried it in the sand, stuck my java moss in that once it starts growing good you can position it so you can't even see the pot anymore. Between that and about 8 bunches of foxtail bunched together in the corner about 7 platy fry managed to survive that I didn't want to.

My Oto's were spawning last week but I think all the eggs got eaten :( I had no place to move them my fry tank had clown fry in it.

I think my otos are trying spawn some more (girl's humongous!) but she wants to put the eggs where the khulies are romping, if only I could get a video lol. ;)
It looks so frustrating for her.
Hopefully she'll decide on another spot (it's not like she doesn't have like 10 or so swords and other plants /walls to choose from. :lol2:)

The two spotted babies now have a stripe on either side of their face so I think they are otos, they look like itty bitty ferrets, so cute!!

So maybe the larger clear/creamy one is a cory?

Is there such a thing as an albino oto?

Albino otos would have been so cute, but everybody's lost their spots and stripes and are coloring up now. Turns out I have 3 baby cories! They are SO adorable!

One of them is growing so fast you can pretty much just stand there and watch it grow lol, the other two aren't quite so fast.

One of the 3 is only about half the size of the others, but I'm fairly certain they are the same or nearly the same age.

Do the boys grow slower than the girls (since they're smaller anyway)?

Oddly enough, the biggest cory baby is twice as big as the biggest of my 2 platy babies, but the platies are much older... ?

Different fish grow at different rates, even in the same group. My last group of Kribensis babies ranged anywhere from 1/4" to 2" (most in the 1.5" +/- range) after about 4 months of growing or so. Even within the same group of fry you can see a difference.

Sounds like you've got everything under control. Congrats! :D when my guppies had fri I just did like others have said and crushed up flake food. They all seem to be doing well (all 40+ of them 8D). As long as they have some moss or something to hide in you should be fine.

Om goodness they've spawned again! I saw the mom & dad cory canoodling and several hours later a huge pile of eggs! Om goodness! LOL!

Most of the eggs were on leaves so I put those in the breeding net hoping to contain any hatchlings - I can't keep anymore - but about 3 days later I saw the mts eating/cleaning (?!) some leftover eggs and a tiny dot zooming around the moss in there...

Are the newborn cories small enough to fit through the holes of the breeding net??
If that's what I saw it looked like it. Oy

I've added a betta since the first spawning, maybe he'll get them while they're still tiny so I won't have to try and catch dozens of tiny wrigglers ... on the bottom of the tank... that I can't quite reach anyway, lol.

Good to know, thanks!
