One fish is hurting another... What do I do?

yeah but its hard to overstock and maintain good water conditions in a 29, hard enough for me with my ten mbuna in the 55!!!! I cant imagine an overstocked 29- I agree with the suggestions of returning the mbuna in exchange for some shellies or SA dwarf cichlids, but it will be alot of work having a couple labs in there, let alone more.

I've had them about 2 months now? That's about right. The are all about 2-3 inches in length, although the red zebra is a little bigger then the others.

When I bought them, one of the tanks had a sticker that said 'Make great target fish for cichlids' would getting one of these fish and dropping it in there cause them to attack the target fish instead of my yellow lab?

Thanks
HC

I've been keeping healthy mbuna in a 29 for over a year.

I only keep yellow labs and rusties, which aren't really territorial or agressive.

In the beginning, I lost four rusties do to a fungus outbreak, but I haven't lost any fish since, and I have never had a problem with agression.

I have two rusties and five labs. When I first set this tank up, I was told by several people that it would never work.

Nevertheless, it has.

I guess I should add that I have lots of rockwork, a 330 GPH filter, and I do big water changes twice a week.

Yes, it can be done, but requires a bit more work. I had three p zebras in a 29 for a few months before I moved them to the 55 and added more mbuna. Rockwork is a must. Even with the fifty five I do 50% h20 changes AT LEAST once a week, if not twice, due to the large bioload. Fun fish though, they are worth every bit of work!!!!

You can buy one of those tank separators and put it in there. You'll be better off taking the red devil back and sticking with just Africans. The fish you have are agressive by nature though and there's not much you can do about it.
