One thing after another!

I was going to pick up the Jungle parasite food tonight, but wanted to hear hat you guys had to say about various treatments. I will pick up the food tomorrow. How do you suggest I get the otos to eat it? I think I may be able to get the frog to eat it. So would it be advisable to treat the water and the tank inhabitants?

So what should I do about the plants? It would be a shame if I had to get rid of them, but I will if it's really necessary. I'm gonna pull them all out tomorrow, and do a thorough vacuuming.

And lastly, how frequently can I change the water without it being too stressful for the fishes and frog? I always make sure the water is the same temperature before adding it to the tank.

thanks for your help, everyone, I really appreciate it.

I have used the anti parasite food..my fish weren't eating but spitting the food out.

the fish may be more prone to accepting brine shrimp or bloodworms.I took the anti parasite food and mixed it with brine shrimp and bloodworms. added it to the tanks..the fish did take in the blood worms.

follow the instructions. I also dosed the tank with jungle parasite clear. I eventually beat the parasite infestation.

it take time with the food if they are ingesting the food you're much better off.

btw an angel can go weeks with no food.

as far as water changes..I have changed water in some tanks 3-4 x per week with no ill effect..get the temp close and make sure you 'treat' the water.

they(all sa cichlids) like clean water

thanks for responding star rider. The thing is, I only observed this on one of the otos, and the others seem fine as far as I can tell. So if I did treat with the medicated food, it would be more of a preventive measure. I have seen the half inch sized worms in the substrate and there were a bunch of them in the water I changed out. That one stringy white poo could be just a weird incidence for all I know, I have not seen any of the other tank inhabitants display symptoms as of yet.
